From the Streets of NYC to the Heart of Logistics & Supply Chain Management
My journey in logistics began on the streets of New York City at the age of 12. As an advertisement distributor for a supermarket chain with locations across the five boroughs, I didn't just learn how to read a map—I learned the pulse of the city. This role was my first lesson in business fundamentals, as I began to understand why certain blocks were chosen for deliveries and others weren't. I soon graduated from following routes to creating them, analyzing which areas responded to our advertisements to maximize efficiency. It was here I discovered my natural talent for both macro and micro-analysis—using the big picture to inform a detailed, strategic approach to excellence.
That street-level education was followed by an inside look at the industry.
Working within the supermarket, I was exposed to the incredible logistical complexity of the grocery world—from fleet management and stocking to safety protocols and regulatory compliance.
A 20-Year Career Forged in Motion
When multiple systems are in motion, a specific mindset is required to identify waste and streamline processes. The goal is always the same: save time, simplify work for employees, and strengthen the bottom line.
After the supermarket, I took this mindset to the MTA Access-A-Ride program as both a dispatcher and a driver, where I managed constant movement and critical safety operations. I later returned to the grocery sector with Whole Foods before launching my own ventures in the moving and advertising industries. Each of these roles demanded an immense focus on logistics and process optimization. This practical experience was paralleled by my work as a Minister, which solidified my belief in servant leadership and the inherent value of every individual in an organization.
Over two decades in the world of logistics, I have cultivated an expertise in four key areas:
My Philosophy: The "Undercover Boss" Approach
My formal education began in Psychology and later evolved into a passion for Neuroscience. I naturally began applying these disciplines to the business world, using my heightened level of observation to analyze, evaluate, and assess procedures and practices. I see a business as a living organism, where every person, from the CEO to the janitorial team, is a vital component.
To truly understand that organism, I adopt the perspective of an "undercover boss," launching my analysis from the bottom up. This approach allows me to gather genuine human intelligence and see how a company truly operates—without the "makeup" that goes on for management. It reveals the unvarnished truth and helps solve problems that are often invisible from the top. I strategically uncover the who, what, where, and why of an operation to understand its core drivers, asking critical questions:
As an avid reader of "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," it pains me to see a business operate like a "slave ship" instead of a "safe haven" for growth. My purpose is to help logistics companies excel where they are lacking by fortifying their core operations—recruitment, training, and professional culture.
The Human Element in a Tech-Driven World
Currently, I am developing a training framework to solve the very human problems facing networks like the Amazon DSP program. I respect what technology and data have accomplished, but I believe rapid expansion has caused many to lose sight of the simple, core values that only people can provide.
AI, videos, and KPIs have their limits. The ability to teach so that knowledge sticks, to transfer skills so they multiply, to turn workers into dedicated professionals, and to forge a strong culture—these are outcomes inspired only by true, compassionate leadership. This is a skillset that cannot be bought or taught in a university; it is forged by learned experience.
